The Correspondence Department provides training for specialists of Educational Degrees of “Bachelor” and “Master” in the Programme Subject Area 035 “Philology”.
Relevant training programmes are offered as follows:
• Programme Subject Area 035 “Philology”;
• Specialization — 035.041 Germanic Languages and Literatures; (including Translation), primary – English;
• Bachelor’s Degree;
• Qualification — Bachelor of Philology;
• Duration of education — 4 years (3 years and 10 months)
2. Training programme for Master Degree students:
• Programme Subject Area 035 “Philology”;
• Specialization — 035.041 Germanic Languages and Literatures (including Translation), primary – English;
• Master’s Degree;
• Qualification — Translator
• Duration of education — 1,5 year (1 year and 4 months).
Starting from the first year of studying, students learn two foreign languages: English (the primary language) and German or French (as a second foreign language), as well as the subjects that provide professional training, for example: History of Ukraine, History of Ukrainian Culture, Philosophy, the Ukrainian language, History of the English Language, Translation and Editing of Commercial Documents, Fundamentals of Translation, Latin, History of the World Literature, Contrastive Grammar, Practical Course in Translation (the primary language), Fundamentals of Scientific Research, Practical Course in Translation from a Second Language, Bidirectional Interpreting, Fundamentals of Communicative Linguistics, Communication Theory, Introduction to Linguistics, Cultural Linguistics, Fundamentals of Translation and Editing, Comparative Lexicology, Theoretical Grammar, Comparative Stylistics, Ukrainian and Foreign Culture of the XX Century, Economics Theory, Information Technologies in Translation, etc.
