Education:
Oksana Skobnikova received a Bachelor’s degree with honors in the specialty “Pedagogy” in 1998 after graduation from Kiev Pedagogical College №1 at the National Taras Shevchenko University. After graduation from Kyiv National Linguistic University in 2002 received a Specialist’s degree in the specialty “Language and Literature (English)” and gained a qualification of philologist. In 2011 received a Master’s degree with honors in the specialty “Translation”. From 2015 to 2019 studied for a postgraduate degree in specialty 10.02.04 “Germanic Languages” at National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”. In 2020 successfully defended the dissertation on the topic “Linguistic, cultural and semiotic aspects of representation of the concept FAMILY in American national corpora and film texts”. By the decision of the Attestation Board of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine was granted a scientific degree of the candidate of Philological Sciences (PhD of Philosophy).
Professional activities:
Since 2012 Oksana Skobnikova has worked at the Department of Theory, Practice and Translation of the English Language, Faculty of Linguistics of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”. Teaches the disciplines “The English Language (practical course, target language)”, “Practical Course of the Second Language”. Directs research activities to under-graduate and graduate students, in particular she supervises degree works of Specialist’s and Master’s students. Is responsible for rating of the academic staff of the department.
Research activities:
Oksana Skobnikova is the author of many scientific works in specialised journals, approved by DAK of Ukraine, also indexed in international academic databases, published both in Ukraine and abroad. Takes an active part in international, national and university scientific and practical conferences, seminars. Is a member of the International Association “Ukrainian Association of Cognitive Linguistics and Poetics”. The scope of her scientific interests includes research in the field of cognitive linguistics, psycholinguistics and corpus linguistics.
International activities:
In 2019 has completed scientific and pedagogic internship in Italy on the topic “Training Programmes for Professional Philologists in Ukraine and EU Countries: Focus on the Future” held by Center for Ukrainian and European Scientific Cooperation in Ca’Foscary University of Venice. In 2020 has completed scientific and pedagogic internship in Poland on the topic “Academic Integrity” held by The Institute of International Academic and Scientific Cooperation (IIASC) Polish and Ukrainian Foundation in The Cardinal Wyszyski University in Warsaw.
