Resume:

In 1984 he graduated from the Faculties of Romance and Germanic Philology (Uzhgorod State University) with honors. In 2000 he presented his doctoral thesis ‘Proper Names Reproduction in Translations’, and in 2002 became a Full Professor.

Arthur G. Gudmanian has been working at the Department of the English language theory and translation since April, 2021.

Scientific interests:

His professional and research interests lie in the area of translation, English as a foreign language teaching as well as communicative linguistics. Artur G. Gudmanian has published 190 works based on his research results both in Ukraine and abroad, among them two monographs, a dictionary and five textbooks. He has given talks and organized many professional All-Ukrainian and international conferences, symposia (General and Specialist Translation/Interpretation: Theory, Methods, Practice in particular). He is a member of Ukrainian Translator Trainers’ Association (UTTU). 13 post-graduate students have successfully presented their PhD theses under his­­­­ supervision.

Artur G. Gudmanian is a member of the specialized scientific council D. 26.001.11 at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and a member of the Expert Council on Philological Sciences and Social Communications of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
